Job description

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Network Support Engineer to move into a newly established Cloud Support role, supporting Global systems, to enable a transition from ‘product' to ‘service' focus. This exciting position is entirely new to the company, and as such, is a great chance to help shape and define cloud services and the role itself.

You would be joining a successful, award winning, world leading developer of sophisticated, low volume, high value capital equipment, who are introducing remote monitoring services and tools, to enable real-time insight in to customer needs and installed equipment performance around the world.

The job will involve -

> Supporting all online cloud administration tools and reporting on their performance

> Supporting improvements and new features in the cloud remote monitoring system

> Providing advice and resolution to technical problems occurring ‘in the field'

> Advising Channels and Distributors on cellular (3G) connectivity for specific customer locations, worldwide

> Supporting a sophisticated cloud based remote equipment monitoring service

> Regular monitoring and reporting on system performance to identify potential improvements

Suitable experience for the Cloud Support Engineer includes -

> Strong experience within a Network or IT support role

> WAN network and firewall administration

> Network troubleshooting

> Linux command-line (CLI) experience

> Strong technical understanding of how data flows and associated issues with data integration into workflows

Nice to have skills include -

> Internet of Things - IoT networks and protocols MQTT, OPC-UA, Intercomm5 etc …
> Experience in 3G remote communications

One of the attractions of the job is that if you don't already have Cloud support / specific protocols knowledge, the company are happy to teach those.

The successful applicant for the Cloud Support Engineer role will also need a strong technical focus, be eager and quick to learn new skills, able to capture customer requirements and, importantly, be inquisitive, with a real interest in Internet of Things (IoT) technology.

A really great job for an experienced Network or IT Support Engineer with good networking skills to move into a Cloud Support Engineer role, picking up new skills in an exciting new, high potential position.
