Job description

My client design and manufacture a range of electronic / electro-mechanical devices and systems they are used in safety critical environments all over the world.

Due to expansion they currently require a Certification Engineer - Electro-Mech to join their R&D team. This is a standalone role supporting the engineering department with approval / compliance issues. Full training will be given in relation to their particular industry standards etc.

Scope of the job:
The Certification Engineer will be responsible for achieving and maintaining product certifications and approvals for these products.

This means that the Certification Engineer must not only be actively involved in New Product Development, be also keep abreast of the changing approvals landscape to make sure that our products are approved to the latest standards.

Key responsibilities of the Certification Engineer - Electro-Mech will include:
> Achieve product approvals during NPD projects in line with project specification
> Maintain existing approvals by ensuring certifications are renewed appropriately
> Carry out crosslisting/multiple listing/parallel approval for branded products as required
> Assess all product modifications and manage/perform approvals actions that result from those product changes
> Keep abreast of changes to the approvals standards and requirements that apply to the company's products

Attributes of the Certification Engineer - Electro-Mech will include:
> Whilst not necessarily an engineer, the Product Approval Manager will be technically minded and will find it easy to understand products and how they operate
> Experience in approvals/certification/compliance highly advantageous but not mandatory
> Experience in dealing with approvals bodies such as UL, BRE, VdS, CCC, AFNOR advantageous but not mandatory
> Experience working for an electronic product design/manufacturing company
> Extremely well organised and structured approach to working, with an eye for detail
> Excellent communication skill
