Antenna Design Engineer, Cambridge, to £ 60K + an excellent benefits package + training into new application areas

An excellent opportunity for an experienced Antenna / RF Engineer to join a well respected, capable and established antenna design team. You will be given the opportunity to design a wide range of unique and bespoke antenna solutions across multiple application areas for a variety UK and international clients and will be working to solve the hardest engineering problems in sensing, data collection & communications. Projects will encompass a wide range of applications including healthcare, internet of things, defence, security and automotive. A very interesting, dynamic and varied environment where no two projects will be the same.

You will be involved with the development of cutting edge RF systems (including communications and radar) to achieve high performance operation in microwave and millimetre wave bands. Depending on the application, your work could require the design of large scanning arrays, highly efficient fixed beam antennas or even low-profile wideband elements. You will be involved in projects from the initial concept, participating in client meetings and setting out requirements, through to design for manufacture. Your work will be supported by the most advanced, state-of-the-art electromagnetic simulation software and sophisticated test and measurement equipment.

Essential requirements -

1. Knowledge of a wide range of antenna techniques, array theory and experience of electromagnetic simulation.

2. An understanding of microwave circuit and system design is also desirable to enable seamless integration.

3. You must be comfortable participating in sales and project meetings with clients and able to generate technical responses to bids and tenders.

4. You will need a good technical degree or an equivalent qualification and you should have a genuine enthusiasm and aptitude for problem solving.
