Job description

Our client is looking to appoint an experienced Accountant of the UK R&D & Operations accounting department, to ensure accurate reporting of R&D departmental Project costs, providing vital reporting and finance support to the R&D function. This role also has responsibility for intercompany margin analysis.

This technology based company were founded in the early 1970s and has pioneered throughout the years and has secured global reputation in over 100 countries internationally. The person joining the business as an Accountant, will be covering the following duties.

> Monthly review of the R&D Oracle project accounting module to ensure accuracy of costs captured on a project-by-project basis, and of the R&D departmental opex against budget/forecast, investigating variances and maintaining accruals and prepayments.

> Responsible for delivering the annual R&D opex budget to Finance timetable. Producing forecasts as required through the year.

> Provide financial reporting to R&D management to enable them to understand and control departmental and project costs. To include review and improvement of existing R&D finance reporting. Ad hoc finance support to the R&D function.

> Intercompany margin analysis - verifying revenue, cost of sales and quantities, identifying root causes of any issues and implementing corrective actions as appropriate.

> Finance responsibility for the company machine stock and Service inventory, ensuring correction valuation, maintaining provisions in line with Group policy, calculating internal recharges, and identifying opportunities to improve stock profile and related processes.
